Dr Henry Slade

Dr Henry Slade was a famous Spiritualist who toured the world and conducted seances. He toured around Australia including across the goldfields and Ballarat, and spent some time in Melbourne. He was accused of being a fraud a number of times, most famously by Harry Houdini.   

What is less well known about Slade is that he was assigned female at birth. He also practised gender affirming care by shaving his face and upper lip every day from since he was very young, which is claimed how he produced his large, silky moustache
