in masculine attire

Here, you'll find all the articles listing people who have been found dressed in masculine attire or various 'female husbands' - An 19th century term for a person assigned female at birth, living as a man, who marries a woman.

There are various reasons given from some of these folks for their choice to dress in masculine attire, for love, disguise, for better jobs and/or wages, for protection, for comfort and in one case, just to get home.

Whatever their stated reason might be, there is a long and documented history of people assigned female at birth who choose to wear  masculine clothing, for a day, a week, for years or all their lives, and we present a small section of them here.
